RESEARCH AND SEMINAR ON ELT

Research and Seminar on English Language Teaching (ELT) is one of the compulsory subjects for students majoring in English Language Education. This subject is to prepare students in designing their research project and presenting it before their peers. To start with, it is important to discuss the theories of English language teaching. Students should be taught about the importance of formulating their learning objectives , understanding the scope of ELT, English as a global language, roles and responsibilities of an English teacher, characteristics of effective English teachers and challenges as well as opportunities in ELT. Introducing the students to classroom research learning objectives, types of research, identifying research problems and questions and the importance of research in ELT. This book also helps students to develop academic presentation and communication skills to prepare them to participate effectively in seminar as both presenters and discussants.
