As global citizens, we have all heard about the many recent achievements of South Korea, from its impressive economic growth to the rise of its creative industries and the global popularity of Kpop. These developments have put South Korea firmly on the map, and rightly so. However, as much as we admire these accomplishments, we believe that there is much more to South Korea than just its entertainment industry. While the study of South Korea in the field of International Relations has largely focused on the soft power of K-pop and its role in shaping the country''''s international image, we believe that there are other important areas that deserve greater attention. In particular, we feel that the field of South Korean foreign policy is ripe for exploration and analysis.
