More and more research on foreign language coursebooks regarding how these materials can incorporate certain sociocultural values. However, few books have been published investigating the issue of intercultural citizenship education. Embracing Intercultural Citizenship Education in Foreign Language Coursebooks: A Guide to Materials Development aims to fill this gap by providing an empirical report on how intercultural citizenship education is represented in the coursebooks and how coursebook authors express their informed views and suggestions towards the principles and procedures in incorporating intercultural citizenship education into materials. The findings of these two data sources are used to conceptualize a model for researchers, teachers, coursebook writers, and publishers in examining, selecting, or developing materials that aim to promote intercultural citizenship education.
