Trisakti and the phony trial

FIVE years ago the Trisakti tragedy shocked the nation, leaving an indelible scar on its conscience. The memory of that brutal slaying of four student demonstrators has since haunted its soul. Five years have gone by, but those responsible for the deaths of Hartanto, Hafidhin Royan, Hendriawan Sie, and Elang Mulia Lesmana remain at large. Despite evidence implicating senior Indonesian Military officers then in command of security in the country the law seems powerless to bring them to justice
