Reading for Academic Purposes is a book that aims to enable students to understand academic English texts. This book consists of 9 units. They are types of sentences as the basis to understand a text, skimming and scanning a text, main idea of a text, idea organization of a text, stated and unstated detail information of a text, learning to read faster, pronoun referents in a text, implied information in a text, determining the meaning of word, determining the meaning of words: structure clues and words parts, determining the meaning of words: context, locating specific information in a text, tone and purpose of a text, and synthesizing a text.
