The Ummah today faces enormous challenges. Scholarsn say one reason may be the lack of cohesion among the Ulamas or religious leaders on the interpretation of Islamic laws, creating division and even conflict among Muslims. There is a need to invigorate the correlation between Islam with science and knowledge. Dissenting views against Islam have closely associated many Muslims with poverty, ignorance and backwardness. The inability to expand their knowledge outside individual interpretations of faith has left a substantial proportion of the world''''s 1.3 billion Muslims further marginalized. Also, the application of Islamic values by Muslims has digressed away from the true value of Rahmatan lil alamin, creating the stigmatization of Islam as a religion that accommodates acts of violence.
