Reading for English International Standardized Tests

Reading is one the language skills and concurrently one of the basic subjects of the Department of English Education. This 12-credit subject is given in the first four semesters of the study program and is usually given by different lecturers in different semesters. Experiences have shown that one of the constraints faced by both lecturers and students in the teaching-learning process is the absence of the definitive teaching materials in the form of textbooks officially used in the program. As we all may know, the existence of designated textbooks is crucial to guarantee continuity of a program and proper gradation and selection of the teaching materials. This textbook of reading is compiled and composed to help both lecturers and students in the teaching-learning process so as to avoid them picking up any materials which are available but which may not be properly selected and graded. It is hoped that the textbook will serve its purpose.
